Environment Erie Hires New Director

Environment Erie’s board of directors, announced Honey Stempka, as the new Executive Director of Environment Erie. Stempka, takes the place of Amy Jo Zola, who left to become the Watershed Engineering Administrator for the San Antonio River Authority, in San Antonio, TX.

Honey has 19 years of experience working for non-profits, with almost all her work having some connection to an environmental or social justice mission. Within the last few years, Honey has coordinated the National Marine Sanctuary application to NOAA on behalf of Erie County and the Dual Career Consortium of Northwest Pennsylvania on behalf of Gannon University and in conjunction with the National Science Foundation. She also served as the Northwest Regional Director for the Green Building Alliance has served as a panel coordinator for Athena PowerLink®, and was a member of the environmental work group for Destination Erie. She is a member of the Erie Ambassadors and is the founder of Undo Undone, a company that created customized training and team building experiences for a variety of industries.

Honey began her new role on January 2, 2018.
