A walk along Cascade Creek in Frontier Park is a great way to see effective Best Management Practices (BMPs) in action. Here, streamside trees and riparian buffer zones full of native trees and shrubs help to control both erosion and sedimentation, two harmful processes that destroy the quality of water entering Lake Erie—our greatest asset and source of drinking water! Join us for the first of three workshops covering the progress already made to this stream through completion of Phase I and Phase II of the restoration process and learn what improvements are scheduled for Phase III. This workshop is for both the concerned citizen and avid environmentalist — come learn about watersheds, nonpoint source pollution, and stormwater BMPs, while delving into recent studies that have been completed that have helped to frame the Presque Isle Bay Watershed Plan.
