Program Assistant - Full Time

Position reports to: Executive Director

Job Purpose Summary: Assist with programming of Environment Erie. The position is primarily responsible for assisting in core program areas of revitalization and restoration. The position is also responsible in assisting Education Manager with outreach and education activities.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities for the Position

  • Assist in implementation of restoration and revitalization activities of the organization
  • Assist Education Manager with all outreach activities for the organization
  • Manage projects under both program lines to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Maintain ongoing contact with program participants to keep them on task
  • Ensure program commitments to assigned funders are met
  • Participate in fundraising through development of programming applications, visits to/contacts of prospective donors, public speaking and fundraising events
  • Program improvement and innovation, current programming includes stormwater retrofits, RecyclErie, and stream restoration projects

Ideal Skills for Position

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Up-to-date with technology in the workplace (MS Office, social media, V/A equipment)
  • Demonstrated writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Organized & Able to juggle multiple tasks
  • Self-motivated and able to provide follow-through
  • Work effectively both individually and in a team setting
  • Comfortable in a challenging, fast-paced environment

Ideal Experience for Position

  • Proven track record in program management
  • Polished presentation, facilitation skills
  • Prior grant writing and management experience

Special Events Coordinator - Part Time

Position accountable to: Executive Director

Job Purpose Summary:
Work with the Executive Director to implement a yearly fundraising plan. This position carries the primary responsibility for event planning for at least three major fundraisers a year and several smaller mini-fundraisers.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities for the Position

  • Coordinate Bike Around the Bay Coordinate dinner theater
  • Coordinate and develop a third fundraiser for the organization
  • Contribute to the financial stability for Environment Erie by achieving the annually established fundraising goals
  • Create, build and maintain relationships with donors, potential donors, partners, community and media to promote market and advertise Environment Erie
  • Develop creative strategies promoting fundraising events
  • Develop and implement fundraising events
