On Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 7 p.m., The Community Resiliency Workgroup will be hosting the "Merchants of Doubt" film screening at the Erie Art Museum as part of their annual summit. Admission at the door will be $5 and adult beverages and food options are also available.

“Merchants of Doubt” is a captivating documentary directed by Robert Kenner. It investigates the works of numerous pundits who spread misinformation to the public about topics concerning global climate change, tobacco usage, and more. These politicians or company leaders claim scientific authority in order to confuse society on issues that already have scientific consensus to maintain consumer satisfaction and economic success. Despite the evidence, these pundits still state publically that global climate change is not real, that the state of the climate is unknown, and that there are not enough sufficient studies to prove anything.

This is an extremely eye-opening documentary since it educates the society that has been deceived for years. “Merchants of Doubt” can be viewed by a wide range of people, even non-environmentalists. The issues discussed in this film have affected everyone on planet earth and this documentary is informative to all who inhabit it.
