Erie students spread message about saving water

Jun 01, 2011 | Posted in News

The Earth Action students at Erie Heights Community Apartments spent eight weeks learning all about water. Activity topics included phases of water, usage, watershed, pollution and conservation.

The students designed door hangers and placed them on every outside door throughout the neighborhood to encourage people to conserve water. Each hanger had a unique message and student-drawn picture. For instance, Elvis Vargas made a door hanger with this message: "Turn off the water while brushing your teeth so you will not waste water and you can save rent money."

Other messages included: turn off the faucet, take shorter showers, and wash your car less.
